ABOUT
Nik Bee is a figurative painter based in New York City whose work examines the intersections of femininity, power, and American culture. Through painting, sewing, and assemblage, Bee investigates how ideals of beauty and gender are constructed and performed. Her work examines how these ideals become tools of persuasion across systems of capitalism, religion, and politics. Bee’s practice explores the tension between desire and violence, using the body as a site where cultural narratives are both imposed and resisted.
